Your toddler is ready to learn self-sufficient skills. Our teachers help your child understand independence by teaching them how to use the potty, wash their hands, use a spoon, and drink out of a cup. Teachers’ also foster social relationships by teaching them to share toys with friends, solve problems, and play in groups.

Being together in small groups allows us to get to know our friends. Music and movement allows our toddlers to sing and dance with friends as we learn new songs and enjoy our old favorites. One of our main focuses at Lifetime Learners Child Development Center is promoting literacy. Throughout the day we set aside time to read together. Our read-alouds with simple and repetitive stories provide our toddlers with the opportunity to learn new words and make meaningful connections. We also engage in literacy skills through the use of puppets, flannel stories, writing books and language games.

At this stage of development, we provide our toddlers with breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack. We help our children develop good eating habits. Eating in our classroom allows our toddlers to pace their meals in a comfortable and familiar environment. Our teachers enjoy eating with our toddlers. This allows time for bonding with good food and interesting conversations. After lunch, toddlers enjoy a calming tune while resting on individual, assigned cots. Some nap for a time while others enjoy a quiet activity. In addition, Spanish and Sign Language are incorporated into this program.

We begin implementing the A Beka Curriculum. Our toddlers learn many lessons through play. They have the opportunity to explore multiple enriching workstations such as language and books, fine motor and gross motor manipulatives, music, sensory activities, and art. Our teachers provide toddlers with a developmentally appropriate foundation in Math, Literacy and Science activities. Your toddler’s teachers provide you with a daily report on the learning activities of your child, toileting success, meals, disposition and nap time.
